Pictures and descriptions sent by Cathy Longman, Bill's niece.

Apparently, Uncle Bill was always keen on photography. This series of photos (i.e. Nos. 1-3) was taken by him in the back yard of 171, London Rd, Ewell. They are mounted on a nice piece of card and Mum has had them forever. They may have been taken in 1952 and done up as a gift for Mum to bring back to Australia.
Granny, sitting at a desk, writing. Mum remembers her getting the ink all over her fingers and hands, and even on her clothes.
Grandad, wearing his "gardening" clothes. The garden was a joy for him - he apparently served in the trenches in WW1 and the experience scarred him. Mum had a little garden patch as well.
Granny and Deedie - If it was 1952 they would be 58 and 54.
Deedie on her wedding day - Jan. 17th, 1955. The dress was strawberry pink. This photo appeared in the Adelaide Advertiser - Uncle Percy was quite high up in the Methodist Church.
Grandad - He was a private in WW1 and was in the trenches. Through the National Archives here I was able to access Dad's military records. Is there a UK site where I could access Grandad's?
Uncle Bill - He was in the Royal Engineers. Maybe we could access his records as well.
Mary Inkson Née Gordon - Mum always refers to her as Granny.
William McConnachie Inkson - Mum refers to him as Papa. He was a Provost of Rothes and a big, framed photo of this is in the Town Hall. Last time Mum was in Rothes she asked if she could have it, but they said "No" because they keep a pictorial record of all their Provosts.
Rothes school photo - we estimate about 1904. Very front row - LHS - Granny, RHS - Deedie. Apparently Aunty Nell is not there.
There is writing on the back of this photo which says -
      Mary Gordon McConnachie Inkson
born 26th January, taken on the 20th June
It doesn't say the year but we know it was 1894.
The three sisters in the garden of Greenbrae in Rothes - L-R, Deedie, Granny, Aunty Nell.
Granny - right front, Grandad behind candle. Someone's wedding but Mum couldn't identify anyone else.
Taken in the back garden of 171. These deckchairs were unusual. Had a canopy and a footstool. LHS - Granny, Uncle Bill with Box Brownie and Mum on the grass. Mum was born in 1925 and Uncle Bill in 1921. Could have been taken 1931-1933 perhaps - or a couple of years either side.
